Sheffield bags’ top spot and runner-up in 2024 National Street Food Awards

As champions of the Sheffield food scene for some time, it gives us great pleasure to see our city gaining traction as a top eating-out destination in the UK.

Cambridge Street Collective won the prestigious title of Best Food Hall at the British Street Food Awards in London this week, with the Cutlery Works coming in close behind as a runner-up.

We are delighted to be collaborating with Blend Culinary Foundation, the new 18-station cooking school at Cambridge Street Collective, on our first Cookery School and Moor Market Experience which launches on 28th September.

This unique foodie experience showcases the Moor Market and its excellent offering as well as supporting the Blend Culinary Foundation CIC whose mission is to alleviate food poverty and insecurity, enhance food education, and unite our diverse cultural communities through food.

Leah's Yard in Sheffield City Centre

What’s new in the City Centre?

The Heart of the City developments are starting to take shape, transforming the city centre into a desirable place to visit again. If you haven’t been to the much anticipated Leah’s Yard yet, then make a date to get down there. It’s a joy to see the sympathetic renovations and visit the authentic local traders that reside there as a new community of independents. Traders include Pete McKee, Hop Hideout, Mesters Market and Gravel Pit.

One of the residents at Leah’s Yard and the last stop on our new Taste of Sheffield Tour is Bullion Chocolate who recently opened  Chocolate Bar. Serving customisable hot chocolates alongside their incredible bakes, they are also launching a new evening menu which we believe will comprise of a great wine list, cocktails and local cheese and charcuterie boards. Follow them on Instagram to be the first to hear more.

Brighton-born independent Bird & Blend Tea Co. also opened their new experiential tea shop on Pinstone Street last week. An award-winning, eco-friendly company whose mission is to make people happy with tea, they offer a wide array of specially blended teas and have a takeaway Matcha Tea Bar. They also provide tea-themed experiences and have a special event space above the shop, so watch this space for upcoming collaborations!

A Taste of Sheffield Food Tour

We have already had some great feedback regarding our new City Centre Tour…

Fantastic Tour of Sheffield City Centre sampling Food

Aug 2024 • Friends

Had an absolutely brilliant afternoon on the Sheffield Food Tour on Saturday. The tour was as a good mix of the history of the centre, gentle walking between locations, lovely food including a dessert, sampled cider, wine and a chocolate liqueur and surprising to learn of some lovely changes in Sheffield City Centre. I would recommend anyone thinking of attending, it's a must and good value, a lovely way to spend 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon, thank you!

Visit all the new City Centre developments and discover some hidden gems on the next Taste of Sheffield Food Tour which is Saturday 28th September. Find out more and book here.
